With sunshine now starting to make a regular appearance, we’re all looking forward to spending more time outdoors, and what better way to sit back and relax in your garden than on some comfy furniture? Rather than splashing out on large, pricey sets that take up a lot of space, a couple of comfortable lounger chairs are a great alternative if you’re on a budget or have limited room outdoors.
Dunelm’s latest launch is perfect for adding some affordable comfort to your garden, with the new coloursways of the Helsinki Lounger Chair priced at £35 for one, direct from Dunelm website. The chair comes in four different spring-ready colours, including baby blue, sage green, butter yellow and charcoal grey, so you could pick matching chairs or opt for a mismatched, colourful look.

The Lounger Chair is the latest addition to Dunelm’s Helsinki furniture range, which also includes the four-piece Helsinki Textilene Coffee Set that’s great for enjoying a morning cuppa or an evening cocktail in the garden. At just £139 it’s affordably priced, and you’ll get a two seater sofa, two chairs and a coffee table in a choice of light blue or charcoal grey.

But whilst the set is great for entertaining or enjoying some al fresco snacks, the Helsinki Lounger Chair is great for more relaxing moments, whether you’re having a nap, catching some sun or reading a book. It has an adjustable backrest so you can choose multiple reclining positions, and is made from durable materials that mean it’ll hold up outdoors even in the unpredictable British weather. It also folds up, making it easy to store over winter or for when you want to clear space in your garden.
Although the Dunelm chair is £35 for one, at Gardening Express right now, this Pair of 2-in-1 Garden Reclining Sun Lounger Chairs are on sale, down from £79.99 to £49.99, working out at just £25 each. The chairs also flatten out into a sun bed to give you more options.
Meanwhile at OHS, the pair of Zero Gravity Sun Lounging Chairs are also on sale down from £80 to £55, making them another great affordable option. If comfort is top of your list, though, you might want to check out this Outsunny Indoor Outdoor Rocking Chair With Cushion, Light Grey which is on sale for just £106.25 at Debenhams, down from £277.99. It has a big, thick cushion bad, a comfy curved shape and rocker feet that makes it great for curling up in with a book.

However, Dunelm’s Helsinki Lounger Chair has been praised for its comfort too, with one shopper saying: “Bought two of your loungers. Super comfy, sturdy and well made. Would recommend.”
Another agreed: “Very comfortable ,I’ve had one before they are well worth the money and I love the super colors they have for the summer.”
One did warn, however: “Nice looking lounger and very comfortable. Only downside colour faded within weeks and left a not so nice colour. Coral nice colour to start with but doesn’t last. Shame but still kept it.”
Another agreed: “Ok lounger for price, however plastic on arms has faded to a horrible yellow colour in less than 2 months which is quite disappointing cause they look tired already! Wouldn’t buy again.”
