Morocco’s Head Coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, has called up Ajax midfielder Rayane Bounida for the first time after FIFA approved his switch in sporting nationality from Belgium, Morocco’s Royal Football Federation (FRMF) announced on Wednesday.
Bounida previously represented Belgium at the youth level before opting to commit his international future to Morocco.
The call-up came two days before Morocco faces Ecuador in a friendly match on March 27 in Madrid. The team will play a second friendly match against Paraguay on March 31 as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
