David Allen Holler, 78, of Warsaw, passed away at 2:34 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was admitted on Sunday, February 1st.
Born on August 17, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of the late Frank W. and Sarah C. (Prichard) Holler. Growing up in South Whitley, he completed South Whitley Elementary School and graduated from South Whitley High School in 1966.
Inducted into the U.S. Army, he served in Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge in October of 1968.
On September 25, 1966, he married Linda Kaye Schneider. They made their home in South Whitley, raising three daughters. In 2004, the couple moved to Warsaw.
Returning from his military service, Dave went to work for Gripco, South Whitley, as a machinist. In 1981, he joined DePuy in Warsaw, later becoming Johnson & Johnson Orthopedics, where he worked as a machinist until his retirement in 2011.
Dave had a great love for the outdoors: fishing, hunting, and camping throughout the years and from coast to coast. His passion for camping led him to manage Pike Lake Campground in Warsaw for six years, where he met and became friends with people from throughout the United States. He enjoyed road trips on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his wife. For eight years, the couple wintered in Florida, where he loved to walk the beach. Family was always his priority, caring for his wife and attending his kids’ and grandkids’ activities and sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda; daughters, Lisa (Mark) Nordman of Burket, Marci Neidig of South Bend, and Amy (Brad) Sutter of Warsaw; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Diana Bricker of South Whitley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Holler, and a sister, Bonnie Best.
The funeral service is 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 12th, at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial is at the South Whitley Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral Home.
Memorials in David’s honor are to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
