“Dank farrik, she’s fast!” Din Djarin recognized the potential of the modified Naboo fighter right from the first test flight of the N-1 Starfighter. The once handcrafted machine of the royal guard with all its later modifications will be honored as a LEGO Star Wars UCS set for May the 4th and also has two minifigures on board.

The LEGO UCS The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442) releases for LEGO Insiders on May 1st, 2026, right on time for the kickoff of activities around this year’s LEGO May the 4th Event and can already be seen on the official May the 4th Event page at LEGO.com. The model including two minifigures is – at least for the first three months – exclusively available at LEGO.com for an RRP of $249.99 / £229.99 / €249.99 / AU$429.99 / CA$349.99 and you can secure three gifts with purchase with your order. Without a free Insiders membership, the starfighter goes on sale on May 4th, 2026. We’ll summarize all the important info about the set in this preview article and show you all the official images.

All Info on the LEGO UCS The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442)

The LEGO The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442) from the Ultimate Collector Series is the model of a converted Naboo N-1 starfighter that was originally commissioned by the Queen of Naboo and later restored by Peli Motto and Din Djarin and equipped with numerous modifications. The LEGO UCS set, which is explicitly aimed at adult fans, contains a total of 1,809 pieces and the minifigures of Din Djarin and Grogu.

The model of the pre-Imperial fighter also has several “(play) functions”, as you can not only present the front cockpit canopy in a closed and in an open position to get a better look at the interior, but also open the dome-shaped canopy on the droid socket, under which Grogu finds space in the series.

A special feature and despite the appropriate template for a LEGO set, not necessarily a given, are the numerous parts in Metallic Silver for the front side of the starfighter. This could also be the reason for the not insignificant price per piece of $0.138. In comparison, the last May the 4th UCS set, LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship (75409), cost $0.101 per piece, but also contained no shiny parts and proportionally many stickers.

In contrast to the spaceship from the time of the galactic republic, the version of the N-1 presented today is asymmetrically designed, which should bring some variety to the building experience and is especially recognizable in that the engines on the right and left are not simply built mirrored. You can see the “greebling” very clearly, especially on the left side, which is somewhat reminiscent of the left engine of Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder (75341) from 2022.

Important to mention for some might be that the model of the N-1 in this set is not built in minifig scale and therefore is neither suitable for displaying the included figures inside nor for recreating scenes from the series. Based on the model’s dimensions of 67 cm length, 39 cm width, and a height of 21 cm (26.5 in x 15.4 in x 8.5 in), this results in a scale of approximately 25:1, if you use the 11-meter length of the original given in the Star Wars Episodes I-VI Compendium.

The Minifigures

Fitting the background story and possibly interesting for displaying the model, the set includes the two minifigures of Grogu and Din Djarin (the Mandalorian).

Even though we get the new mold for Grogu with the high cloak collar again, and Din Djarin appears with new printing, these shouldn’t be deciding factors for purchasing the set for anyone with a minifigure collection. You can also get the figure of “Baby Yoda” with the LEGO Star Wars new releases in April for the new “The Mandalorian and Grogu” movie, and Din Djarin, who got another update for his leg printing this year, doesn’t really differ from the minifigure in the other sets of the April wave except, that in this set he has a cape made of cloth.

Interesting Parts

While the original version of the N-1 as Naboo Starfighter still had a chromed front, the surface of the fighter from the Mandoverse looks more like brushed stainless steel. This material is implemented quite true to nature with numerous recolored parts in Metallic Silver and creates a matte silver shine on the front of the fighter.

Unlike the color Flat Silver, which already contains glitter particles in the plastic, the metallic tone is applied to a gray core and brings a little more contrast into play (see image below), but can therefore also wear off more easily with heavy use. It’s also exactly the LEGO color that most lightsaber hilts of the Jedi and Sith are made with in LEGO Star Wars sets today. For better distinction, we’ve made a photo comparing both colors directly below.

Comparison with the Original

Compared to the version from the series:

In direct comparison with the “real” model that was used for filming “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Mandalorian”, you can attest that the UCS model has a pretty fitting appearance that’s close to the original.

The basic proportions are well captured and attention was also paid to details like the yellow stripes on the top or the numerous openings with glimpses into the ship’s interior.

Overall, you can say that the LEGO The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442) does justice to the original and represents a good representation of the iconic starfighter.

Compared to the Naboo N-1 Starfighter:

When comparing the N-1 Starfighter with the original design of the Naboo N-1 starfighter as it appears in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, you can clearly see the numerous modifications that were made to the template of today’s presented UCS set.

The internal twin laser cannons were replaced by external cannons and the droid socket was replaced by a cockpit for Grogu.

The chromed hull protection domes on the engines were removed and a Turbonic Venturi Power Assimilator was added in front of the large cockpit canopy.

Other LEGO N-1 Models

With the reveal of today’s set, LEGO has released a total of three models of Din Djarin’s N-1 Starfighter so far, if you don’t include the Microscale and Microfighter versions. By far the smallest model in terms of parts is the 4+ version in the set LEGO 75410 Mando and Grogu’s N-1 Starfighter from January 2025.

A somewhat larger version is built in the set The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75325), which we’ve already taken a close look at in a detailed review.

Although it naturally doesn’t represent Mando’s but rather the original version of the fighter, one must not forget in this context the previous, classic LEGO UCS set of the Naboo N-1: the rather atypically small model for the collector series of the N-1 starfighter from 2002, which with only 187 pieces is more reminiscent of a play set, but unlike the new UCS N-1 Starfighter is equipped with chrome-colored parts.

Gift with Purchases & Bonus for the UCS N-1 Starfighter

GWP: LEGO The Darksaber (40917):

This year again you get a “big” Gift with Purchase added to your order when you buy the UCS set.LEGO Star Wars 40917 The Darksaber (2)

The legendary weapon that is wielded first by Moff Gideon, then by Din Djarin, later by Bo-Katan in “The Mandalorian”, the “Darksaber”, is built in the set LEGO The Darksaber (40917) from 278 pieces. With such a piece count, it would naturally have been difficult to also design the dark blade of the sword. Therefore, the set – just like the 2024 GWP, Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber (40730) – is the buildable sword hilt with display stand and printed nameplate. It’s already the fourth buildable LEGO Star Wars sword hilt and this lands not only with the UCS set, but also with all other LEGO Star Wars purchases with a minimum purchase value of $160 from May 1-6, 2026 or while supplies last in your cart at LEGO.com.

Exclusive “Collectible”: Mandalorian & Grogu Display (5010320):

Just like in recent years, there’s an exclusive small collectible, a “Collectible” (so not a LEGO set) for LEGO May the 4th that should sweeten the purchase of the big UCS set.

LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian Lenticular Gwp Mt4 20262

When you buy the LEGO The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442), the Mandalorian & Grogu Display (5010320) also automatically lands in your cart. This is a lenticular ornament with N-1 Starfighter motif (so a “lenticular image”) with engraved base in a small presentation box that suggests motion blur in the background when viewed from a different angle.

Insiders Reward: Mandalorian & Grogu Metal Card:

Mandalorian Und Grogu Metallkarte 2

All fans of Mando and Grogu additionally have the opportunity in the LEGO Insiders Rewards Center at the UCS set’s release to redeem a special reward for 2,500 points. This is also not a set, but a metal card with a motif on both sides featuring an image of the Mandalorian and Grogu including a stand. The card is approximately 3.1 inches (8 cm) long and 2.0 inches (5 cm) wide.

LEGO Star Wars 30728 The Razor Crest Mini-Build

LEGO Star Wars 30728 The Razor Crest Mini Modell 3

As in previous years, there’s a polybag as a Gift with Purchase for all LEGO Star Wars purchases from a minimum purchase value of $40 – and this year it’s the freshly released LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (30728). The small polybag consists of 74 pieces and represents the iconic spaceship of the Mandalorian from the eponymous series in mini format. Of course, the polybag can be combined with other Gift with Purchases and ongoing promotions.

Official Reveal in Livestream

May The 4th Livestream Banner

For April 15th at 12:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM CET, a livestream has already been announced to reveal the activities around this year’s LEGO May the 4th. We will of course watch this very closely and possibly add details from it here in the article afterwards.

Poll: How do you like the LEGO The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter

As usual, we’ve prepared a poll for you to get a sense of sentiment about the set:

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Conclusion

The LEGO The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442) is not only a logical next step in the Mandoverse after the LEGO UCS 75292 Razor Crest, but also a fitting update of the previous UCS version of the spaceship, which is already more than 20 years old and differs significantly in size and appearance from today’s presented model. Moreover, the timing is tactically well chosen because of the upcoming “The Mandalorian and Grogu” movie. Adult LEGO Star Wars fans for whom a larger scale than minifig scale for the N-1 starfighter is no problem get a true-to-nature recreation of the series template as a display piece from the Ultimate Collectors Series with shiny parts, some functions, and popular characters as minifigures.

What do you think of this year’s UCS set and the Gift with Purchases for May the 4th? Do you like the implementation of the LEGO The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442)? And will today’s presented UCS set land in your home? Or does only the classic, yellow Naboo Starfighter work for you? Please write us your first impressions of Mando’s N-1 Starfighter in the comments and exchange thoughts about the new LEGO UCS set for May the 4th 2026!
