Danske Bank downgraded the Norwegian energy corporation Equinor ASA from a ‘Buy’ to a ‘Hold’ rating on April 15. The financial institution established a price target of NOK 385 for the company’s stock as reported by Detik Finance.

The newly assigned price target suggests a potential valuation increase of more than 9% from current market levels. Equinor, which operates globally with a workforce of 25,000, maintains a significant presence in the international energy sector.

Significant capital is being directed toward the South American market, specifically through the Raia natural gas project located in Brazil‘s Campos basin. Equinor initiated development drilling at the site last month to bolster its offshore production capabilities.

This venture represents the largest international financial commitment by the Norwegian firm to date, with total investments reaching approximately $9 billion. The project is expected to supply nearly 15% of the total natural gas demand in Brazil once it becomes fully operational.

Daily production targets for the Raia project include 16 million cubic meters of gas alongside 126,000 barrels of oil and condensate. Despite the stock rating change, the company currently maintains an annual dividend yield of 4.07%.

“Buy” stated Danske Bank, as the previous rating for the energy stock before the adjustment to a neutral position.
