Warsaw’s MZA has extended its September 2025 order with Solaris by 79 electric buses, bringing the total to 158
Warsaw’s public transport operator MZA has exercised an option to extend its September 2025 order with Solaris Bus & Coach by 79 additional electric buses. The expansion includes 50 articulated Urbino 18 electric buses and 29 Urbino 12 electric buses, bringing the total order to 158 zero-emission vehicles for the Polish capital.
The contract extension was enabled through an option clause included in the original agreement signed in September 2025. The newly ordered buses will be prepared based on a specification matching the vehicles ordered in the initial contract.

The e-buses will be powered by batteries with a capacity of over 500 kWh in the 12-metre models and over 700 kWh in the 18-metre models. Charging will be carried out using a plug-in connection, and the vehicles will feature a modular drive system architecture without a traditional engine tower.
Deliveries of the additional buses are scheduled for the first half of 2027. Warsaw ranks among European leaders in zero-emission bus operations, with a significant fleet of battery-electric vehicles already in service across the city’s public transport network.
Solaris has delivered 163 e-buses to the Polish capital to date. The manufacturer is currently fulfilling several orders for MZA covering a total of 208 zero-emission Urbino electric buses, demonstrating the continued partnership between the operator and supplier in supporting Warsaw’s transition to zero-emission public transport.
