Temperatures have plummeted to -2C (feels like -12C) at Copenhagen Fashion Week – so it’s no surprise that the street-style set has been wrapping up to make their way between shows. That doesn’t mean that guests have sacrificed on style though, with statement coats being the dominant trend seen on the pavements so far this fashion week.

British Vogue’s contributing senior features editor Julia Hobbs coined the term “one and done coat” back in February 2025, when the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy and Rosalía were stepping out in sculptural furry coats (by Alexander McQueen and Celine, respectively), teamed with nothing but a pair of tights and heels.
It didn’t take long for the trickle-down effect to come into action, with plenty of fuzzy coats spotted in Copenhagen this week, as seen on Vogue Scandinavia’s features editor Allyson Shiffman. “To state the obvious, it’s very cold here in Copenhagen, so this season my strategy was to have one standout, weather-appropriate coat for each day,” she tells Vogue. “It sort of doesn’t matter what you wear underneath, which is quite convenient. My two holy grails are my Nicklas Skovgaard teddy bear coat and my Studio Constance shearling. Getting them here was the only challenge. I wore one on the plane and carried the other in a garment bag.”
