Samusocial volunteers preparing distribution of sleeping bags
Brussels: On 04 February, In the spirit of the ongoing global observance of the Year of Compassion honoring His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, Belgium Ghoton Organising Committee organised a targeted humanitarian drive to provide immediate relief to unsheltered people across Brussels from the life-threatening dangers of biting cold during harsh winter months. By distributing 90 high-quality sleeping bags, the initiative seeks to provide warmth, comfort, and dignity to those living on the streets.
To ensure efforts reached those in greatest need, the Ghoton organising committee partnered with Samusocial of Brussels, which ensured direct distribution through their established mobile outreach network. By leveraging their street-level experience, the committee was able to provide a vital survival kit to individuals currently unable to access temporary night shelters.
Samusocial plays a vital role in providing assistance to homeless people and asylum seekers in Belgium and around the world.
