Mahindra’s Edoardo Mortara secured pole position for the opening race of Formula E’s Berlin E-Prix, marking his fourth pole at the venue.

The Swiss driver defeated championship rival Pascal Wehrlein in the final duel after setting a 56.986, over one-tenth clear of the Porsche driver.

Reigning world champion Oliver Rowland secured third on the grid, ahead of Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum in fourth.

Remarkably, despite winning three of the last four races, neither Antonio Felix da Costa or Mitch Evans could progress to the duels.
