Finland’s state-owned postal operator Posti will reduce its workforce by 121 employees following the end of company-wide change negotiations.
The company said the talks have now concluded and confirmed that the number of job losses is lower than first estimated. When negotiations began, Posti said it expected to reduce up to 172 permanent positions.
Posti said the lower figure reflects internal redeployment, with some employees moving to other roles within the company.
The reductions form part of a broader restructuring of services, retail locations, and production operations.
Five Posti-run post offices will transfer their services to partner companies, other Posti service points, or parcel locker networks in March and April 2026. Posti said all affected locations will continue to operate normally until the changes take effect.
The company will publish details on the locations and opening hours of the affected service points on Thursday.
Two flagship locations will remain under Posti’s direct control. These include the central post office at Postitalo in central Helsinki and the Santa Claus Main Post Office in Rovaniemi.
Alongside the retail changes, Posti will increase automation at its Helsinki postal centre. The company said the largest single reduction in staff will take place at that facility, where sorting processes will rely more heavily on automated systems.
