Northridge girls basketball advances to regionals after upset win over Warsaw in sectionals

  • 2026-02-10

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. (WNDU) – Northridge showcased a new level of toughness on Saturday, defeating No. 4 Warsaw 63-60 in the Class 4A Sectional 4 title game.

“We knew that we could do it right when we stepped foot in there and we just knew we would have to battle with them the whole game and it took all 32 minutes,” said Northridge senior point guard Macey Riegsecker.

The Raiders rallied from a nine-point second-quarter deficit to take a 33-28 lead into halftime against the Tigers. Warsaw had one final opportunity to tie the game with seven seconds remaining but turned the ball over before getting a shot off.

“It was pretty hard, I just had to put my trust in my teammates and myself and know that Warsaw is a great team. They have some great players over there and we just showed up,” said Northridge junior forward Zoe Yeater.

The victory improves Northridge’s record to 19-7 overall. The Raiders will now square off against Valparaiso in regionals on Saturday, a team that has been on a hot streak, scoring at least 55 points in each of its last 11 games.

The Raiders remain confident in how far this group can go.

“So much potential, especially when we play together and play as one and rely on each other and our coaching staff. Our potential is through the roof. We just need to play how we know we can,” said Northridge senior shooting guard Cam Conley. “We won against Warsaw but I just know we have so much more and we just left stuff back against them. I know we can play better.”

The Raiders will take on the Vikings in the regional championship on Saturday at Jimtown. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
