A Money Heist prequel is coming sooner than you think and once again it’s all about Berlin.
Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, an eight-part series that takes Money Heist fans before the original Spanish crime drama began.
“The art of crime reaches a whole new level. A heist where nothing is what it seems”, the synopsis teases, “Berlín returns with a new challenge, this time set in the heart of Seville.
“The plan revolves around a masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci. But precision won’t be enough—emotions, impulsive decisions, and the bonds within the crew will put everything at risk.”
As expected, Money Heist legend Pedro Alonso will be back as the charming and narcissistic criminal.
While fans are excited to see Berlin’s second prequel make its debut next week, Friday, May 15, some have claimed that the trailer is “incomplete” without the Professor, played by Alvaro Morte.
“Where is Professor?”, someone simply asked as another stated: “Any heist is incomplete without the Professor”, followed by a crying emoji.
Others also commented that they wanted to see a “separate series” on the Professor, the mastermind behind the heists in the original Netflix drama.
Even though there has been no news on another show just yet, actor Morte has already confirmed that despite not being in the trailer, he will be making a cameo in Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine.
In a promotional video, Morte shared: “Returning as The Professor; even if it’s just for a very, very small part because it’s only a few scenes, it was something I really wanted to do, beyond just being with the crew again.
“Because it’s like a small gift we’re giving to everyone; to the followers, to the fans we’ve always had, and who have always shown us so much love.”
Despite disappointment that Morte isn’t in the trailer, fans have expressed their delight at Berlin’s season two with some labelling it as “heist epic”, and referring to him as a “legend”.
Alonso will also once again be joined by the stars of the first Berlin prequel, including Michelle Jenner, Tristan Ulloa, Begona Vargas and Julio Pena Fernandez.
They will be joined by actress Inma Cuesta who is set to portray Candela described as an “unpredictable, fiery and temperamental woman from Seville”.
Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine premieres on Friday, May 15, on Netflix.
