A new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub has been officially launched by TotalEnergies near Berlin Central Station, significantly enhancing the city’s ultra-fast charging infrastructure. The facility, strategically located on Invalidenstrasse, offers 18 charging points that can deliver up to 400 kW, catering to the high demands of various users including commuters, office workers in the nearby Europacity district, taxi operators, and private drivers accessing the station or nearby cultural venues.

This new hub is designed to be fully powered by renewable energy, with certified guarantees of origin ensuring a sustainable operation. The central location of the charging station makes it an attractive option for urban drivers, positioning it as a critical part of the city’s growing urban mobility network.

The charging points are all covered, providing protection against the elements, and the site features two accessible charging bays. In addition to charging capabilities, the hub incorporates everyday convenience services such as tire pressure stations and vacuum cleaners, designed to enhance the overall user experience.

Jan Petersen, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions Germany, emphasized the importance of the new facility, stating, “With our new flagship charging hub at Berlin Central Station, we are bringing high-performance fast charging to where it is needed most: a central transport hub with high traffic.” He further noted that this development aligns with the company’s strategy to expand fast-charging infrastructure and play a role in the decarbonization of transport in Berlin.

This opening builds on TotalEnergies’ previous efforts, including a major charging site at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, as the company continues its commitment to establishing high-capacity charging locations along key mobility corridors across the region. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the growing demand for electric vehicle infrastructure in urban areas.
