At Sena Samvad, a civil-military interaction, General Upendra Dwivedi praised the younger generation for being “10 times better than our generation”, describing them as more adaptable, socially aware, globally connected and digitally fluent. He said modern warfare has expanded beyond the traditional land, air and maritime domains to include cyber, space and cognitive domains as well.
Highlighting the Army’s future focus, General Dwivedi said the Indian Army has designated 2026-2027 as the “Year of Networking and Data Centricity”. “We are seeking help from the younger generation to offer simple solutions to complex problems,” he said, adding that during “Op Sindoor”, civil defence exercises conducted across India were carried out by NCC cadets.
