Vestas has received an order for the 26 MW Kapuni Wind Farm in New Zealand from Hiringa Energy Limited. The order includes supply and installation of 4 V162-6.4 MW EnVentus wind turbines optimised to boost energy output. The order also includes a 20-year service agreement, ensuring reliable, long-term clean power for local communities and industry.

The Kapuni project is a partnership between Hiringa Energy, Balance Agri-Nutrients, Todd, PKW and MBIE, with Hiringa Energy leading development and operations. As one of New Zealand’s first large-scale projects integrating wind power to the grid that supports green hydrogen production at scale, Kapuni supports decarbonisation across transport, energy, industry and agriculture while strengthening the country’s renewable energy system. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026, while commissioning is planned for the second quarter of 2027.
