Maersk Adds New Dual-Fuel Vessel “Tauranga Maersk” to Its Fleet » Puente de Mando

  • 2026-05-25

Maersk has added the new dual-fuel container ship “Tauranga Maersk” to its fleet. This is the second of this new series, preceded in February by the vessel “Tangier Maersk”.

The vessel “Tauranga Maersk” (IMO 1029352), flagged in Denmark, was launched at the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding yard in China. With this new addition, the Danish shipping company continues to advance its fleet renewal plan and invest in environmentally friendly dual-fuel vessels.

The new vessel measures 274 meters in length and 46 meters in width. For Maersk, this new generation of container ships is key to achieving more sustainable operations and providing greater flexibility in the use of alternative fuels.
