Ericsson will relocate its Stockholm operations, including its headquarters, from Kista to Hagastaden, creating a modern city campus designed to strengthen collaboration, innovation, customer engagement, and talent attraction.

Ericsson has announced plans to relocate its Stockholm operations, including its headquarters, from Kista to Hagastaden, marking a major strategic shift for the telecommunications giant’s future in Sweden.

The phased relocation process is expected to begin in early 2028 and continue over several years as the company transitions key operations into a newly envisioned city campus. Ericsson’s current Kista presence includes R&D operations, business areas, group functions, and the Imagine Studio – the company’s flagship collaboration and showcase space for customers, partners, VIPs, and industry events.

The move reflects Ericsson’s ambition to position itself closer to Stockholm’s growing technology and innovation ecosystem whilst creating a more modern and collaborative workplace environment.

As part of the relocation strategy, Ericsson has signed leases with Atrium Ljungberg and Castellum for five properties in Hagastaden, totalling approximately 71,000 square metres.

Three of the properties – Wave, Corner of Ekeblad, and Trinity – will be leased from Atrium Ljungberg, accounting for a combined 58,000 square metres. Meanwhile, Emerald House and Jubileumshuset will be leased from Castellum.

Ericsson had previously signed a lease agreement with Castellum for the 24,000 square metre Infinity property, which is currently under construction and expected to be completed by late 2027. The development comprises two connected buildings and forms part of Ericsson’s broader vision for its future city campus.

Despite the latest agreements, Ericsson states that its definitive long-term footprint within Hagastaden has yet to be fully finalised.

The relocation underlines Ericsson’s wider focus on strengthening collaboration, innovation, and talent attraction through a more integrated urban campus environment.

According to Ekholm, the new Hagastaden location will support both internal cooperation and stronger engagement with customers and partners across the wider business ecosystem.

Ericsson says it will continue to update employees as the multi-year relocation process progresses towards its anticipated start in 2028.
