AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (WNYT)- Amsterdam police said a bicyclist was flown to Albany Medical Center after a crash with a vehicle and investigators say charges are possible.

The Amsterdam Police Department said officers responded May 31 to several calls about a crash involving a motor vehicle and bicyclist on Garden Street. Officers found an injured person who had been riding the bicycle with a visible leg injury.
Members of the Amsterdam Fire Department provided medical treatment.
Police said LifeNet later flew the injured person to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with officers, according to police.
Police said another person who had been riding the bicycle left before officers arrived. They say the crash remains under investigation.
The department said it is being assisted by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Christina Pearson. Police said charges, including traffic citations, are possible as the investigation continues.
