String Furniture, the Scandinavian design icons since 1949, and Grythyttan Stålmöbler, the Swedish outdoor furniture specialists since 1895, presented a new initiative during Stockholm Design Days (2nd – 6th February 2026) – The Building – an exhibition set within a historic three-storey mansion from 1648 in the heart of Stockholm, bringing together leading Nordic design brands.
In a celebration of Scandinavian design, String Furniture and Grythyttan Stålmöbler united at The Building with internationally acclaimed names – HAHA studio, ateljé Lyktan, Gemla, Källemo, and Made by Choice – in a curated exhibition that brought together craftsmanship, innovation, and the essence of contemporary Nordic design. Located in the heart of Stockholm at Västra Trädgårdsgatan 9, the exhibition unveiled the brands’ 2026 launches.
Bo Hellberg, CMO of String Furniture & Grythyttan Stålmöbler, states, “The idea behind this initiative is to bring together some of the most recognised Nordic design brands under one roof, and to create a shared platform where craftsmanship, creativity and collaboration can take centre stage.”
With its grand architecture, artistic atmosphere, and historic heritage, Västra Trädgårdsgatan 9 offered a dynamic backdrop for each brand’s curated exhibition display. Throughout the week, The Building hosted curated press viewings, cocktail events, guided tours, and meetings, serving as a central hub for design professionals, media, architects, interior designers, and the wider creative community.
