On February 24th, four years will have passed since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A rally in support of Ukraine, “Together until Victory!”, will take place in Rīga at the Freedom Monument, the organisers said in a release.

The rally “Together until Victory!” will take place on Tuesday, February 24, from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. at the Freedom Monument.

“For the fourth year, the sun is rising over war-torn Ukraine. This is a chaotic time when the usual world order is crumbling. Winds are blowing from all sides, confusing our direction, tiring our steps, making it easy to get lost and weary. But freedom has never been a given. It has always required a clear stance. Therefore, we invite you to gather at the Freedom Monument in Riga on February 24 from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. to express your support at sunrise for the Ukrainian people, who have been fighting for four years not only for their own freedom, but also for ours,” as stated in the call for support on the website www.kopalidzuzvarai.lv.

Participants gathered at the Freedom Monument will stand in a specially marked area, forming the shape of Ukraine, and will be invited to sing in support of Ukraine together with choirs and other musicians. The event will be hosted by Guna Zariņa, an actress from the New Riga Theatre. Information about the support campaign is available on the website www.kopalidzuzvarai.lv.

The organisers invite participants to bring Ukrainian and Latvian flags and to wear clothing in the colours of the Ukrainian flag. The organisers also invite participants to bring yellow and blue flowers and candles to place at the Freedom Monument.
