Foodora will cease operations in Finland at the end of February. The closure affects about 80 local employees.

The company confirmed on Friday that its app and delivery service will run until 27 February 2026. After that date, the platform will shut down across the country.

The decision follows change negotiations that began on 12 January. The process ended this week with a resolution to withdraw from the Finnish market.

Foodora informed staff, courier partners and commercial partners of the decision. The company stated that it will support employees in line with local regulation and internal policies during the transition.

Restaurant and grocery partners will receive separate communication on next steps. This includes the termination of contracts and the settlement of outstanding payments.

Foodora linked the decision to a strategic focus on markets where it seeks market leadership in Europe. The company stated that it intends to direct investment to countries where it sees stronger long-term growth and brand position.

The service will remain available in Finland until 27 February. Orders for restaurant meals and grocery products will continue as normal until that date.

Foodora entered Finland in 2015. Over the past decade, the company expanded to more than 100 cities and municipalities.

The exit will leave Wolt as the only major app-based food delivery platform operating in Finland for the time being.

Uber Eats plans to launch in Finland later this year. The US-based company has not announced a specific start date.
