Abbey CBS take on St Patrick’s, Dungannon at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds in Armagh with the Danske Bank MacRory Cup and the title of Ulster post-primary champions at stake for the two historic schools.

The last time that Abbey made it to the final was in 2006, with Jody Gormley at the helm as the Newry school took their fifth title in their history.

St Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon, needn’t cast their memory as far back, making the show-stopper in 2024, where they lost to Omagh CBS in the end.

Last year saw St Patrick’s College, Maghera, secure the honours over Abbey Vocational School of Donegal at Celtic Park.

In their semi-final, Abbey CBS took out Omagh at Fintona, with the much-fancied Omagh leading 0-10 to 0-6 at the break, but the winners from Newry produced a brilliant second-half comeback at Fintona to dig out a win and qualify for their first Danske Bank MacRory Cup final in two decades.

In the other semi-final, St Patrick’s Academy managed to beat Abbey VS in extra-time to make sure they got another chance to add to their tally of five MacRory Cup titles, the latest of which came in 2009.
