•FC Ebedei opens admissions for new session
FC Ebedei President Barrister Churchill Oliseh received an emotional honour from FC Midtjylland at the MCH Arena in Herning, Denmark, with the Danish club’s fans applauding his contribution to Nigerian football development ahead of their UEFA Europa League qualifier against Beşiktaş.
Oliseh, accompanied by his wife, FC Ebedei Vice-President, and sons Fredrick Oliseh, General Manager and Head of Youth Development, Gabriel and Stefan, was given a standing ovation as the Matchday Announcer highlighted his contributions to the partnership between the two clubs before kickoff. The family then approached the home supporters’ side of the stadium to acknowledge the crowd’s response.
“This is a very emotional evening for my family and FC Ebedei. We truly appreciate the honour and recognition from FC Midtjylland,” Oliseh said. “It’s been an honour to be their strategic partner for nearly 25 years, developing Nigeria’s best football talents. I am proud of everything we’ve achieved together, including winning their first-ever Superliga with our cooperation graduates.”
FC Ebedei has been a key talent pipeline for FC Midtjylland for 25 years, nurturing young Nigerian players for European careers. Oliseh has contributed players to every senior Nigeria national team laurel since 1995, with FC Ebedei remaining the largest contributor of players to the Super Eagles over the past few decades. The academy is currently on a three-month training tour of Europe.
The honour in Herning comes as Ebedei Sports College, based in Apele-Sagamu, opens its admission process for the new academic session, continuing the football-and-education model that has underpinned the Oliseh family’s development pipeline.
Applications for the 2026 session opened in June, with orientation scheduled for September 2026. The college is welcoming fee-paying students as part of efforts to build a diverse, inclusive intake alongside its scholarship-based talent programme.
The curriculum prepares students for WAEC/NECO examinations through small classes and flexible schedules, run alongside a football programme modelled on European standards. Training covers ball mastery, tactics and age-appropriate physical development, supported by video review sessions and league participation.
Facilities include modern pitches, classrooms, laboratories, a library, a medical suite, a student lounge, reliable power and high-speed internet. Staffs include FIFA/CAF/UEFA-licensed coaches, qualified educators, sports medicine professionals and support staff. Boarding students are housed four to a room, with laundry, internet access and meals provided.
Students take part in local, national and international matches, tournaments and training tours, gaining exposure intended to support future football or academic careers.
