It’s official: kitten-heeled flip flops have been christened the ‘It’ shoe of summer, with the world’s most famous flip flop brand, Havaianas, unveiling its own take on the viral style at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
Debuting on the Studio Constance spring 2027 runway, the new design also plays with Havaianas’ iconic toe-post, with a fresh take that sees the big toe concealed. Made from the brand’s signature rubber and available in black, off-white and pale green, we’ve got a feeling that they will be everywhere come spring.
“The Kitten Heel represents a new design perspective for Havaianas, while remaining true to the ease, authenticity, and Brazilian spirit that have always defined the brand,” said Maria Fernanda Albuquerque, global vice president of marketing.
In terms of how to style them, according to Studio Constance, you can wear them with jeans, dresses and midi skirts – basically, anything goes – and they are certainly ideal for taking a look from day to night, with that quintessentially laid back Havaianas appeal being slightly elevated via the low heel.

Flip flops have been enjoying a resurgence in popularity in the past few years, after The Row gave them a glamorous upgrade in 2025 with the red-soled ‘Dune’ sandal, as seen on Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Kravitz and Kendall Jenner.
Meanwhile, kitten heels – and specifically a kitten heeled flip flop – have been emerging as the most popular shoe of summer 2026, after Toteme, Gucci and Chloe all showed variations of the style. Celebrity fans include Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber and Bella Hadid, with the former spotted in the Toteme version on multiple occasions.
