Police in Berlin warning residents of scam involving someone pretending to be an officer
BERLIN, N.H. —
Police in Berlin are warning residents about a scam involving someone pretending to be a Berlin police officer.
Officers say the caller told someone she would be arrested if she did not send money.
Police say they will never request money over the phone and said if you get a call from someone claiming to be a police officer, hang up and call the department directly.
Officers are reminding people not to provide banking information over the phone.
