Sam Riley, known for his role in Rebecca, joins the cast as Robert Lanz. Riley’s talent for complex characters will enhance the series’ intrigue. Roger Allam, recognized for The Choral, takes on the part of Ernst Gennat. Allam’s sharp delivery is expected to bring intensity to the investigative plot. Liz Kingsman, who appeared in F1, will play Rosa Bauer. Kingsman’s comedic timing will add a lighter touch amid the series’ darker themes.

The series also confirms that Jack Lowden will star as Bernie Gunther, with Colin Firth in a supporting role. Production is currently underway in Berlin, capturing the city’s historic atmosphere.

Berlin Noir is produced by Bad Wolf, the studio behind Industry, and PlayTone, the company founded by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
