Inspection leads to current road closure along State Route 33, between Percy and Bromley roads in Riga

RIGA, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Transportation put out a travel advisory in the Town of Riga for a road closure along State Route 33, between Percy Road and Bromley Road, due to a recent failed inspection in a culvert under the roadway.

NYSDOT said drivers should follow the detours and signs when using State Route 36, Interstate 490, and State Route 259.

Travel delays are possible and NYSDOT asks people to use alternative routes.

Updates will be provided on the progress of the project, and when the roads reopen.
