NEW BERLIN— New Berlin High School FFA were the winners of a food drive hosted by Springfield Plastics.
New Berlin competed against Edinburg High School, Morrisonville High School and Northwestern High School and collected the most food throughout the week.
The four chapters collected 3,323 pounds of food, 368 pounds more than last year.
As the winning chapter, New Berlin received $1,000 to covers costs associated with going to the FFA state convention. Each school received $250 for participating in the drive.
Jennifer Furkin, president of Springfield Plastics, said all the chapters worked hard to collect food.
“We are honored to partner with FFA chapters in this wonderful opportunity to give back,” Furkin said. “The FFA chapters will donate all the food to local food pantries.”
