Kleptomaniac and dog. Two words that shouldn’t belong in the same sentence, yet here we are. Wait, who am I to say this dog has a problem? As far as I know, he stole one $700 camera from some visiting journalists, and then hid it under his sled. He would’ve even had plausible deniability if he hadn’t left actual teeth marks in it from chewing on it.

Even worse, he hit “record” on the camera accidentally when it was in his mouth and he was making his mad dash for freedom with it. Yes, multiple mistakes were made by the poor sled dog that incriminated him, but still make him guilty of nothing more than one bad decision.

Maybe he felt no photographers were successfully capturing the “real” beauty of Greenland and decided to handle it himself. Or maybe he has a TikTok and no way to capture updates. OK, fine. It probably just looked like a real cool thing to chew on.

Oh come on, you’ve gotta admit-that shot of him as he’s running with the camera in his mouth-it’s pretty darn cute, right?

I

I love it because every time I write about a dog that “supposedly” did something wrong, an army of people come forward in the TikTok comments and step up as his team of lawyers. Fantastic. “I don’t really see any kind of reliable evidence here,” wrote one.

Another tried a different tactic: “Your honor! He didn’t steal it he was just helping get some very authentic footage!”

We have a brilliant point being made here: “If you put a camera on a STICK and leave it unsupervised… the defendant was a victim of entrapment.”

“Seemed to me he was keeping it safe under the sled, not stealing.” Which is true. The dog is, in reality, a hero.

If you were to go just by TikTok comments, that dog is 100% innocent.

There’s one other possibility a very smart person in the comments came up with: “You know damn well they hired that dog for some shots, and now they’re trying to get out of paying him.” Hmmmm. His footage was *really* good. I loved the shot of his teeth and of his teammate.

Others think he just might’ve been going above and beyond the original assignment: “He’s making a ‘day in a life’ vlog.”

Whatever. The dog is innocent. It’s been established. Whoever you are, sled dog, we’ll all be waiting around for your TikTok. You have a great eye and we’d totally watch the rest.
