Ukraine national team defender Oleksandr Zinchenko made his first appearance for Amsterdam-based Ajax in a Dutch league match. The 22nd-round match against AZ Alkmaar finished in a 1-1 draw.
Debut and First Appearance
The 28-year-old Ukrainian defender was named to Ajax’s match squad for the first time: he started on the bench and came on as a substitute in the 76th minute, replacing Owen Wijndal. Zinchenko did not register any goal contributions.
Last week he joined Dutch club Ajax on a contract until June 30, 2026.
In the first part of the 2025/26 season, the Ukrainian, whose rights were owned by London’s Arsenal, spent on loan at Nottingham Forest.
This debut marked the start of a new chapter in Zinchenko’s Ajax career.
