Is clubbing in Berlin passé? The renowned publication DJ Mag published its 2026 top club ranking yesterday evening and results are not looking good for Berlin. Of all the clubs in our city only Berghain was voted into the Top 100 list, dropping down to 21st place – 5 points down since last year. Bootshaus in Cologne came ahead of it at 11th place, and the only other German club to make the list was newcomer Open Ground in Wuppertal, at 100th place.
The first place belongs to [UNVRS], a new “hyperclub” located on the island of Ibiza. This appears quite reflective of the overall vibe of this year’s list, which is dominated by largescale and high-end venues, with the third and fourth place also belonging to clubs in Ibiza.
With more and more clubs in Berlin facing closure and DJ Mag’s Top 100 being dominated by expensive commercial venues, the question arises: is Berlin still the party capital in 2026?
