As we reported a few months ago, a huge LEGO Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith (11377) is slated for release this June. Now, alongside the unveiling of the new Helmet of Sauron, many exciting details about Minas Tirith have inadvertently become public, giving us much deeper insight into the upcoming LEGO Icons set. Here’s everything we know so far about the LEGO Minas Tirith leak.

“What’s the difference between a helmet and a city, as long as it’s from Middle Earth” is what LEGO’s officially recognized fan medium (RLFM) might have thought today and published a two-minute reel on its own Instagram channel for several minutes, showing the huge city of Minas Tirith as a LEGO Lord of the Rings set in almost all its details. The video was apparently recorded at the LEGO Fan Media Days in Billund in September and shows a presentation by the designers responsible for the set.

They appear to have mixed up the embargoes between the LEGO Lord of the Rings Sauron’s Helmet (11373) and LEGO Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith (11377). They were probably a few months too early with Minas Tirith, because as far as we know, the set is not due to be released until June 2026 and will presumably not be officially unveiled until May. After about 10 minutes, however, the reel was deleted—which is of course far from soon enough with almost 140,000 followers on Instagram—so numerous fans were able to watch and save it.

We will of course not show the video or the images, for which we do not hold the copyright, here, but we can summarize all the information and details from the LEGO Minas Tirith Leak for you.

General information about LEGO Minas Tirith (11377)

The upcoming model of Minas Tirith will, as far as we know, be released on June 1, 2026 and will be available on the market at an RRP of $599.99. The set consists of 8278 pieces and, as we know thanks to the reel, includes 10 minifigures and the Shadowfax horse. Due to its enormous piece count, Minas Tirith is going to be the 6th largest LEGO set right out of the gate and, at its RRP, is actually one of the more affordable models.

The minifigures included feature four soldiers of Gondor in full armor, with their own helmet mold and printed shields. Notable figures include King Aragorn (in full armor), Arwen (with an Elvish banner), Faramir, Pippin, Denethor (with tomatoes) and Gandalf the White.

For Minas Tirith, the design team has opted for a mix of microscale modeling and minifigure scenes—just as we suspected and as LEGO had already done with the LEGO Lord of the Rings Barad-dûr (10333). While the White City is a microscale model from the outside and shows all seven rings of Minas Tirith (or rather “hints” at them in some cases), several minifigure scenes familiar from the films are hidden inside via various removable modules: including the Palantir, the Houses of Healing and the archives where Gandalf searches for the truth about the One Ring. The outermost wall is also removable and can be flipped over, revealing some minifigure-scale scenes inside.

The LEGO Lord of the Rings team has come up with something special for the back. If you turn the model around, the city’s throne room is recreated inside at an impressive scale, including the throne and its chair as well as the table at which the iconic meal scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King can be recreated.

It isn’t possible to tell whether the model includes stickers. What is clearly visible, however, is that LEGO reuses the printed windows from LEGO Architecture Neuschwanstein Castle (21063) in many places, which can be spotted there on the Tile Round 1 x 1 Half Circle Extended.

In terms of color, LEGO relies primarily on white, in keeping with the nickname “White City”. Some accents are set in light bluish gray and sand green, with the floor of Minas Tirith in tan. LEGO mainly uses light bluish grey and dark tan for the rock outcrop that rises from the city.

This is how big LEGO Minas Tirith will be

While the video doesn’t provide any concrete information about the set’s size, we have tried to “calculate” at least the width and height, to the best of our knowledge and belief, based on the visible studs and individual bricks recognizable in the model. We therefore assume that LEGO Minas Tirith will be around 60 cm (24 in) high and almost 60 cm (24 in) wide. Unfortunately, this estimated height is not enough to make our list of the tallest LEGO sets.

In terms of depth, we end up with a space requirement of around 36 cm (14 in), which would make Minas Tirith somewhat less shelf-friendly than Barad-dûr, for example, at around 30 cm.

Please take all these values with a grain of salt, however, as the video footage was unfortunately not ideal for counting studs. So please don’t buy a new shelf based on this. 😉

In any case, LEGO Lord of the Rings fans can look forward to the huge LEGO Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith (11377)—or cry into their pillows for a few more months because of the upcoming cost. for this set We will of course keep you up to date with all the  LEGO Lord of the Rings sets here on the blog and will introduce you to Minas Tirith here in a few months’ time, once LEGO also releases official images of the White City.
