WARSAW, Ind. (WNDU) – Slate Auto has raised $650 million toward getting its first electric truck into production at its factory in Warsaw.
According to a report released this month, the Michigan-based startup said the funding will help ramp up work at its factory, with the goal of starting production later this year.
The production is expected to create over 2,000 jobs in Kosciusko County.
Slate also said it already has more than 160,000 reservations, and it plans to open preorders in June.
The company said the truck could start in the mid-$20,000 range, with first deliveries targeted for late 2026.
