A Money Heist prequel is arriving sooner than expected, and once more it revolves around the “legend” Berlin.
Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, an eight-episode series that transports Money Heist enthusiasts back to before the original Spanish crime drama commenced.
“The art of crime reaches a whole new level. A heist where nothing is what it seems”, the synopsis hints, “Berlín returns with a new challenge, this time set in the heart of Seville.
“The plan revolves around a masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci. But precision won’t be enough-emotions, impulsive decisions, and the bonds within the crew will put everything at risk.”
As anticipated, Money Heist icon Pedro Alonso will reprise his role as the charismatic and self-absorbed criminal.
While supporters are thrilled to witness Berlin’s second prequel launch next week, Friday, May 15, some have argued that the trailer feels “incomplete” without the Professor, portrayed by Alvaro Morte.

“Where is Professor?”, one viewer simply questioned as another declared: “Any heist is incomplete without the Professor”, accompanied by a crying emoji.
Additional viewers remarked that they desired a “separate series” focusing on the Professor, the brilliant strategist behind the robberies in the original Netflix programme.
Although there’s been no announcement regarding another programme as yet, actor Morte has already confirmed that despite his absence from the trailer, he will be making a cameo in Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine.
In a promotional video, Morte revealed: “Returning as The Professor; even if it’s just for a very, very small part because it’s only a few scenes, it was something I really wanted to do, beyond just being with the crew again.
“Because it’s like a small gift we’re giving to everyone; to the followers, to the fans we’ve always had, and who have always shown us so much love.”

While some supporters are disappointed that Morte doesn’t feature in the trailer, enthusiasts have voiced their excitement about Berlin’s second season, with several branding it a “heist epic”, and calling him a “legend”.
Alonso will once more be accompanied by the cast from the first Berlin prequel, featuring Michelle Jenner, Tristan Ulloa, Begona Vargas and Julio Pena Fernandez.
The ensemble will welcome actress Inma Cuesta, who is set to play Candela, characterised as an “unpredictable, fiery and temperamental woman from Seville”.
Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine launches on Friday, May 15, on Netflix.
