Former Bafana Bafana winger Gift Links has a league medal in Denmark following Aarhus’ 2-0 over Brondby on Sunday.

The win secured the 2025-26 Danish Superliga title for Aarhus, and this was Links’ first since moving to Denmark.

Links was again instrumental in Aarhus’ 2-0 win over Brondby as he provided an assist for his team’s second goal on the day.

Aarhus finished top the of the log with 50 points from 22 league games after having registered 15 wins and five draws.

This means Aarhus only lost two games throughout the season, and Links played a huge role in this success.

The left-footed attacker contributed three goals and five assists in 22 league games that he played this term.

Overall, the 27-year-old featured 37 times across all competitions for Aarhus, netting five times and providing seven assists.

WHICH SA PLAYERS WON THE LEAGUE TITLE IN DENMARK?

Links has joined an exclusive list of South African-born players to have won the Danish Superliga.

The first player to achieve this feat is none other Sibusiso Zuma who did with FC Copenhagen in 2000-01 and 2002-03.

Zuma was in the same team as Elrio van Heerden for the 2002-03 Danish Superliga title winning season.

Both Siyabonga Nomvethe and Benedict Vilakazi lifted the trophy during the 2007-08 season with Aalborg BK.
