Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will represent Finland at the India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on Tuesday 19 May. On the same day, the Nordic prime ministers will also hold their own meeting on topical foreign and security policy issues.
The prime ministers of the Nordic countries and India are meeting for a joint summit for the third time. Discussions at the summit will focus on deepening cooperation on trade, innovation, digitalisation and the green transition. The summit will also provide an opportunity for closer dialogue on topical international issues.
In connection with the summit, Prime Minister Orpo will meet bilaterally with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I met with Prime Minister Modi in India in February. Finland has a lot to offer India, especially when it comes to digitalisation and sustainability. Our goal is to double trade between Finland and India by 2030. The EU-India Free Trade Agreement supports this goal,” said Prime Minister Orpo.
