From May 29–31, the Lithuanian capital will be transformed by its most vibrant seasonal color as the “Vilnius Pink Soup Fest” returns. This year, the city’s tourism and business development agency, Go Vilnius, is introducing an expanded three-day musical and entertainment program. The festival will feature gastronomic experiences alongside free concerts and comedy performances in the city’s primary public spaces.
The celebration begins on Friday, May 29, and continues through Sunday afternoon. The main activities are centered at Town Hall Square (Rotušės aikštė) in the historic Old Town and the area near the White Bridge (Baltasis tiltas), a popular leisure spot by the Neris River. Visitors are invited to sample various interpretations of šaltibarščiai—Lithuania’s famous cold beet soup—while participating in themed entertainment.
The festival’s stage program kicks off on May 29 at 7:00 PM at Town Hall Square. The opening night features the band Black Biceps, performing alongside an 8-piece orchestra. The group promises an energetic start to the “pink weekend.”
Following the music, the K2 comedy troupe will present a special “Cold Beet Soup Trial.” Using an absurdist comedy format, the performers will attempt to settle the long-standing debate over which country—Lithuania, Latvia, or Poland—can truly claim ownership of this iconic dish. The evening will conclude with a performance by Despotin Fam, a hip-hop group appearing with a live band for a 45-minute set of intense rhythms and ironic lyrics.
On Saturday, May 30, the action returns to Town Hall Square. Starting at 8:00 PM, the singer Angelou will perform, bringing a sense of summer freshness to the festival. She describes the event as a unique city celebration where food, urban culture, and music creatively intersect.
The evening’s highlight will be a concert by Donatas Montvydas and his band. This marks the pop star’s debut at the Vilnius Pink Soup Fest. Montvydas is preparing a set of his most popular hits and a stage image specifically tailored to the festival’s pink theme. According to the artist, this concert marks the official start of his summer season.
On the final day, May 31, the musical program moves to the White Bridge area. Starting at 3:00 PM, Sandra Carrillo will perform. Known for her Latin-inspired sound, the artist will bring pop energy and festive rhythms to the closing ceremony, inviting the crowd to end the weekend with summer dancing.
