The Sounders played two friendlies Thursday to wrap the main portion of their preseason training camp in Marbella, Spain.

The first was a rain-soaked, 3-1 win against Sweden’s Hammarby IF at Marbella Football Center.

Sounders forward Osaze De Rosario netted a brace, the second goal coming in the 65th minute off an assist from left back Nouhou. Midfielder Jesús Ferreira wedged in a goal between De Rosario’s output in the 63rd minute off an assist from midfielder Albert Rusnák.

Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer started a veteran lineup against Hammarby. Andrew Thomas was in goal with a back line of Nouhou, Jackson Ragen, Yeimar, and Alex Roldan.

Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan wore the captain’s armband and played alongside new signee Hassani Dotson.

The pairing will likely stick through the season after mainstay Obed Vargas was transferred to Spanish titan Atlético Madrid earlier this week.

In the attack was Jordan Morris and Ferreira on the wings, Rusnák in the middle and De Rosario up top. Former Ballard FC standout Peter Kingston subbed on for Yeimar in the 80th minute.

The weather cleared for the second match but the Sounders were shut out 3-0 by Ukraine’s FC Metalist 1925 at Marbella Football Center.

Schmetzer started new signee Max Anchor in goal with Reed Baker-Whiting, Cody Baker, Gallatin Sandnes (Sounders academy player), and Kalani Kossa-Rienzi on the back line. Snyder Brunell and new signee Nikola Petković and Seba Gomez were in the midfield.

The attack featured new signee Yu Tsukanome, Paul Rothrock and Danny Musovski up top. At the break, draft pick Joe Dale and Kingston subbed on for Gomez and Musovski.

Sounders winger Georgi Minoungou was unavailable. He returned to Washington to complete his visa paperwork.

Sounders keeper Stefan Frei is also stateside due to the death of his mother, Marlies.

The Sounders will return to Renton on Sunday to complete preseason training at their facility. Their final friendly is against USL Championship side Louisville City FC on Feb. 15. The MLS opener is Feb. 22 against the Colorado Rapids at Lumen Field.
