WARSAW, Mo. —
An anonymous bomb threat forced shoppers and employees out of the Warsaw Walmart Thursday evening as police and explosive-detection K9s swept the store room by room.
The Warsaw Police Department said officers were dispatched to the Walmart after someone called in the threat anonymously.
Store managers and employees evacuated the building while first responders locked down the area and began searching for possible explosives.
Because Warsaw police do not have an explosives-detection dog, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office responded with several K9 units trained to detect explosive devices.
Authorities said officers and K9 teams strategically searched the store and found no explosive devices.
After the search was completed, the building was declared safe and employees were allowed back inside.
The store later reopened to customers Thursday night.
No injuries were reported.
