In Denmark, the big story (apart from Greenland’s fate) was Copenhagen Fashion Week’s 20th anniversary. Talking trends, the main message was cold weather dressing. Think shearling toppers and scarf coats, autumnal plaids, ski sweaters, and scarves. “There is no bad weather, only bad clothes,” as the Scandis say.
The most unconventional designers got was using exposed shoulder pads and playing with peplums and panniers. Deconstruction as a means to responsible production was also prevalent. Still. This was a season of dressing up your basics, such as the essential white shirt or a tweedy coat with a face-framing collar or a flirty hat. Chapeau!
