A motorcyclist from Warsaw died early today after a collision with a car in Kosciusko County, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded about 5:15 a.m. to the crash on Indiana 15 just south of Short Ridge Drive in Wayne Township, the release said.
The preliminary investigation showed a Buick Regal driven by Haciel Juarez-Gutierrez, 19, was traveling south on Indiana 15 and crossed the center line, hitting the northbound Indian Roadmaster motorcycle driven by Randy Schmucker, 64, the release said.
The Kosciusko County coroner pronounced Schmucker dead at the scene from injuries he suffered in the head-on crash, the release said.
The release indicated Juarez-Gutierrez, of Warsaw, was not injured.
