{"id":101854,"date":"2026-06-07T08:58:42","date_gmt":"2026-06-07T08:58:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/101854\/"},"modified":"2026-06-07T08:58:42","modified_gmt":"2026-06-07T08:58:42","slug":"ryanair-announces-27-flights-from-uk-to-europes-phoenix-city-travel-news-travel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/101854\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryanair announces \u00a327 flights from UK to Europe&#8217;s &#8216;Phoenix City&#8217; | Travel News | Travel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Budget airline Ryanair has unveiled 46 routes from Warsaw this winter, including a host of new connections to and from the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The airline announced a major expansion at the Polish capital&#8217;s airports, adding 12 new routes and boosting passenger numbers to four million a year.<\/p>\n<p>Among the new services are direct flights between Warsaw and Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool, giving British travellers the option to visit the Polish capital, often referred to as Europe&#8217;s &#8220;Phoenix City&#8221; due to its remarkable reconstruction after being almost completely destroyed several times, most recently during World War 2.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion forms part of Ryanair&#8217;s Winter 2026 schedule and includes two additional aircraft based in Warsaw.<\/p>\n<p>Five new routes will operate from Warsaw Modlin Airport, including flights to Manchester and Bristol, while Liverpool joins seven new destinations being launched from Warsaw Chopin Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The low-cost carrier said the growth would more than double passenger traffic through Modlin to 3.2 million travellers a year, while passenger numbers at Chopin are expected to rise by more than 50%.<\/p>\n<p>Other new destinations from Warsaw include Bratislava, Shannon and Zagreb from Modlin, alongside Bari, Bologna, Catania, Naples, Turin and Venice from Chopin.<\/p>\n<p>Ryanair chief executive Michael O&#8217;Leary said the airline was delivering &#8220;record growth&#8221; in Warsaw and expanding route choice while maintaining low fares.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;Across Warsaw&#8217;s two airports, Ryanair will deliver even more choice, more competition and Europe&#8217;s lowest fares for Warsaw citizens and visitors to enjoy in Winter 2026.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To mark the launch, Ryanair has put more than 100,000 seats on sale with fares starting from 134 Polish zloty (\u00a327).<\/p>\n<p>Warsaw has become an increasingly popular city-break destination for British tourists thanks to its restored Old Town, thriving food scene and relatively affordable prices compared with many Western European capitals.<\/p>\n<p>Known as the &#8220;Phoenix City&#8221;, Warsaw rebuilt itself after around 85% of the city was destroyed during the Second World War, with much of its historic centre painstakingly reconstructed and later recognised by UNESCO.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Budget airline Ryanair has unveiled 46 routes from Warsaw this winter, including a host of new connections to&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":101855,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_share_on_mastodon":"0"},"categories":[95],"tags":[2715,52137,182,1765,52136,181],"class_list":["post-101854","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-warsaw","tag-flights","tag-phoenix-city","tag-poland","tag-ryanair","tag-uk-flights","tag-warsaw"],"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@dk\/116708003483686113","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/101854","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=101854"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/101854\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/101855"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=101854"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=101854"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=101854"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
