Australian teenage sprint sensation Gout Gout will make his much-anticipated Diamond League debut in Oslo on Wednesday – and you can watch it live on BBC Three from 19:00-21:00 BST.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old, whose speed and running style has earned him comparisons with the great Usain Bolt, broke the under-20 200m world record<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n

Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo will be among those Gout will face in the men’s 200m at Bislett Stadium.<\/p>\n

Oslo Diamond League key events and timings<\/p>\n

Wednesday, 10 June (All times BST and subject to late changes)<\/p>\n

19:04 – British record holder Amber Anning in women’s 400m<\/p>\n

19:20 – Briton Max Burgin, who excelled in winning in Rabat last month, seeks to beat Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi again in a high-quality men’s 800m<\/p>\n

19:29 – British trio Innes Fitzgerald, Hannah Nuttall and Megan Keith in the women’s 3,000m<\/p>\n

19:44 – Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo and Gout Gout in the men’s 200m<\/p>\n

20:12 – Dina Asher-Smith, Amy Hunt and Olympic champion Julien Alfred in the women’s 100m<\/p>\n

20:19 – former 1500m world champion Jake Wightman competes in the Dream Mile<\/p>\n

20:52 – the evening finishes with home favourite Karsten Warholm v Brazil’s Alison dos Santos in the 400m hurdles<\/p>\n

What to watch out for in 2026 Diamond League<\/p>\n

After her shock second-place finish in Stockholm<\/a> on Sunday, Britain’s Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson will next race over 800m at the Diamond League meeting in Eugene.<\/p>\n

Training partner Hunter Bell and reigning world 800m champion Lilian Odira will also compete at the Prefontaine Classic as the three medallists from last year’s World Championships in Tokyo are reunited in Eugene.<\/p>\n

Hodgkinson, whose defeat by Switzerland’s Audrey Werro came in her first 800m of the outdoor season, hopes to be ready to beat the long-standing women’s 800m world record at the London Diamond League meeting on 18 July.<\/p>\n

Josh Kerr has also announced he will attempt to break the long-standing men’s mile world record<\/a> on the same day.<\/p>\n

The London Athletics Meet will be a key date in the diary of many British stars, with a women’s 200m showdown between relay team-mates Hunt, Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita among the other standout events.<\/p>\n

How does the Diamond League work?<\/p>\n

The Diamond League – athletics’ premier one-day meeting series – consists of 15 stops, this year culminating in a two-day final in Brussels in September.<\/p>\n

Athletes compete for points across 32 Diamond League disciplines at the 14 regular series meetings in a bid to qualify for the finals.<\/p>\n

The top six athletes in field events, top eight in track events from 100m up to 800m, and top 10 in distances from 1500m upwards, will qualify for the finals.<\/p>\n

The finals, which precede the inaugural season-ending World Athletics Ultimate Championship, are a winner-takes-all showdown to be crowned Diamond League champion in each event.<\/p>\n

All Diamond League events will be shown on the BBC until 2030 after a new multi-year deal was agreed last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The total prize money remains the same as 2025, when it was increased to $9.2m (\u00a36.8m) – including $500,000 (\u00a3370,000) at each of the 14 series meetings, and $2.2m (\u00a31.6m) at the Diamond League final.<\/p>\n

However, the prize money structure has been altered to provide higher earnings to the winners of eight selected ‘Diamond+’ disciplines’ at each meet, which offer $20,000 (\u00a314,800) at series meetings and up to $60,000 (\u00a344,400) at the finals.<\/p>\n
