A number of explosions have been heard in Anderlecht, with locals racing to social media to ask what was going after loud booms were, with helicopters reportedly scrambled and police ‘everywhere’.<\/p>\n
A number of people in the Brussels neighbourhood – most famous for its football club – took to X to ask the same question: Porquoi? Or, in English: Why?<\/p>\n
One X user said: “Does anyone have any info on what’s happening right now in Anderlecht? There were two massive explosions and gunfire, and now helicopters are out, and the police are everywhere?”<\/p>\n
A second added: “Explosion in Anderlecht, for real, what’s going on?”<\/p>\n
Police, first responders, and government are yet to share any information on the situation, with queries from nervous Belgians going unanswered in the wake of explosions and reported gunfire.<\/p>\n
