\n\tParis-based sales outfit MMM Film Sales has boarded Rima Das<\/a>\u2018 \u201cNot a Hero<\/a>,\u201d which is set to world premiere in the Generation section at the Berlin Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe India-Singapore co-production, shot in Assamese, Hindi and English, centers on a young boy who is sent from the city to live in his ancestral village. There, he encounters his embittered aunt, forms a bond with a horse and embarks on wild escapades with the local children, ultimately uncovering an inner strength and the simple beauty of rural life.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film stars Bhuman Bhargav Das, Sukanya Boruah and Mrinmoy Das.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe were deeply impressed by this beautiful, contemporary Huckleberry Finn\u2013like story set in today\u2019s global, hectic world, one that contemplates the world that younger generations will inherit,\u201d said MMM. \u201c\u2018Not a Hero\u2019 is a film about roots and origins, friendship and values \u2013 an encounter between younger and older generations, and a reconciliation between the world of yesterday and the one the protagonists will have to face tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDas is known for intimate narratives exploring human connection, self-discovery and maturation against natural landscapes. Her previous works include \u201cVillage Rockstars\u201d (2017), which represented India at the 2019 Academy Awards; \u201cBulbul Can Sing\u201d (2018); \u201cTora\u2019s Husband\u201d (2022); and \u201cVillage Rockstars 2\u201d (2024). Her films have screened at more than 150 festivals globally, collecting over 75 awards, with stops at Toronto, Berlinale and Busan.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNot a Hero\u201d is produced by Flying River Films in India, Akanga Film Asia in Singapore and TrainTripper Films in India.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the European Film Market<\/a>, the newly launched MMM will also present Cris Tapia\u2019s genre offering \u201cGunman,\u201d which recently premiered at Rotterdam; Abdelkarim El-Fassi\u2019s \u201cPorte Bagage,\u201d which world premiered at Marrakech; Junna Chif\u2019s \u201cInvisibles\u201d and Andr\u00e9s Clariond Rangel\u2019s \u201cVersalles,\u201d produced by Nicol\u00e0s Celis, both in competition at P\u00d6FF Tallinn.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe company\u2019s slate additionally features K. Papadakis and S.
