BERLIN – Police are seeking footage of a vehicle that reportedly evaded a crash in Berlin early Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Berlin Police Department said the crash occurred between 12:30 and 1 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle drove off the road on Hudson Street near Westview Terrace, narrowly avoiding a utility pole but striking\u00a0a guide wire for the pole, as well as terrain and vegetation in the area, according to Berlin police Deputy Chief Drew Gallupe.<\/p>\n
The single-vehicle crash caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle, Gallupe said.<\/p>\n
According to a post from the department’s Facebook page<\/a>, officers followed a fluid trail and determined the vehicle traveled on Hudson Street east of\u00a0Westview Terrace and took a right to go south onto Worthington Ridge. The vehicle then went east on Middletown Road and north on the Berlin Turnpike, police said.<\/p>\n Gallupe said Cromwell police stopped the vehicle shortly after the crash due to the extensive damage.
