{"id":108970,"date":"2026-06-16T11:11:26","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T11:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/108970\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T11:11:26","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T11:11:26","slug":"hamburg-berlin-rail-corridor-is-reopened-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/108970\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamburg \u2013 Berlin rail corridor is reopened"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                    Local and regional services will return to the regular timetable, and replacement buses will be withdrawn.\n                <\/p>\n<p>\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/railmarket.com\/eu\/profile\/db-infrago\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DB InfraGO<\/a> will restore through traffic<br \/>\nbetween Hamburg and Berlin on 14 June after completing the main works on the<br \/>\ncorridor renovation.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                The corridor is one of Germany\u2019s most<br \/>\nimportant intercity and freight routes. Freight capacity between Hamburg and<br \/>\nBerlin has been restored, including on feeder lines. Trains between Hamburg and<br \/>\nHagenow Land\/Schwerin resumed on 15 May.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                Long-distance services will operate from 14<br \/>\nJune, but journey times will be adjusted by several minutes until 30 June.<br \/>\nAcceptance testing continues on signalling and interlocking systems between<br \/>\nHagenow Land and Berlin-Spandau, requiring temporary speed restrictions on<br \/>\nparts of the route.\n            <\/p>\n<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1781608286_552_00132B8D0A189DCF.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9 Deutsche Bahn AG \/ Oliver Lang\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid rounded\"\/><br \/>\n                \u00a9 Deutsche Bahn AG \/ Oliver Lang<\/p>\n<p>\n                The restrictions affect long-distance<br \/>\nservices only. Local and regional trains will run according to the regular<br \/>\ntimetable from reopening.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                The renovation began on 1 August 2025. DB<br \/>\nInfraGO renewed 165 km of track, 249 switches, seven crossovers, 678 signals<br \/>\nand 25 platforms. Station works were carried out at 28 locations.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                Some station works will continue after<br \/>\nreopening.
