{"id":109871,"date":"2026-06-17T09:02:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T09:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/109871\/"},"modified":"2026-06-17T09:02:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T09:02:18","slug":"contract-to-rebuild-warszawa-wschodnia-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/109871\/","title":{"rendered":"Contract to rebuild Warszawa Wschodnia station"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                    Construction is due to begin in December 2026 and finish by the end of 2029.\n                <\/p>\n<p>\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/railmarket.com\/eu\/profile\/pkp-polskie-linie-kolejowe-s-a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe<\/a> has awarded<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/railmarket.com\/eu\/profile\/torpol-s-a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Torpol<\/a> a nearly EUR 706m contract to rebuild Warszawa Wschodnia and Warszawa<br \/>\nStadion.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                The project covers the eastern rail gateway<br \/>\nto central Warsaw and prepares the network for the later reconstruction of the<br \/>\ncross-city line. Warszawa Wschodnia handles almost 1,000 trains a day, making<br \/>\nthe staging of works as important as the civil engineering scope.\n            <\/p>\n<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/D7472C14125D4175.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9 PKP PLK\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid rounded\"\/><br \/>\n                \u00a9 PKP PLK<\/p>\n<p>\n                Traffic will be maintained during<br \/>\nconstruction. Some long-distance services will be diverted to Warszawa Gda\u0144ska<br \/>\nand Warszawa G\u0142\u00f3wna, while suburban services will later use a bypass through<br \/>\nWarszawa Stadion, Warszawa Powi\u015ble and Warszawa \u015ar\u00f3dmie\u015bcie.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                The works include the reconstruction of<br \/>\nseven platforms at Warszawa Wschodnia, new roofs, standardised platform<br \/>\nheights, passenger information systems, lifts and escalators. Three existing<br \/>\nunderpasses will be rebuilt, and a new tunnel connection will improve access<br \/>\nwithin the station area and towards Tysi\u0105clecia Street.\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                Warszawa Stadion will also be rebuilt,<br \/>\nincluding platform works and a new pedestrian link to Stadion Narodowy metro<br \/>\nstation. The connection is intended to make transfers possible inside the<br \/>\ntransport node rather than through the surrounding street network.\n            <\/p>\n<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/443D435662FE690F.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9 PKP PLK\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid rounded\"\/><br \/>\n                \u00a9 PKP PLK<\/p>\n<p>\n                The infrastructure package includes more<br \/>\nthan 46 km of rebuilt track, 57 km of new overhead contact line, 170 turnouts<br \/>\nand seven rebuilt railway viaducts.
