Warsaw needs someone to show her that her struggle mattered. Warsaw’s story began Sept. 24, 2025.

It was early. The veterinary clinic was closed, but a man stood beside the door, crying. He cradled a medium-sized, black pup, covered in blood, yelping in pain. He’d been driving in the dark, heading to work, when a dog, now called Warsaw, stepped into Warsaw Road.

Warsaw’s pelvis was shattered, her leg nearly destroyed, and an eye almost gone from concrete scrapes. A vet and a foster owner helped Warsaw survive and completely recover. Now Warsaw sees, walks and longs to love unconditionally.

GARFIELD

Garfield loves the carpet on his shelter cat tree. He never felt such softness. Garfield is one of this season’s animal babies who entered a world that never wanted them. Yet, they’re born to mothers who love them more than their own lives.

Golden-boy Garfield’s mamma was abandoned and homeless. She survived near a tobacco store. Some people offered food. Others chased her away. In her sad, lonely, risky life, near that store was the safest place she knew, she gave birth to Garfield and his siblings there. Eventually she showed her kittens to people there. She had to. She needed help. Starving mothers can’t nurse babies they love.

His mamma and people cared for Garfield. But kittens can’t survive long, living behind a store.

BRONCO

At just nine weeks old, little Bronco has lived a wild-west-style adventure. Just like humans on a wagon train, the puppy and his mamma traveled from place to place, hoping for a home. At night, like those on a wagon train, the little family camped. This family slept on the porch of the empty house where they’d lived.

They had lived there with people, but the people carried everything out of the house, stepping over the puppy as they went. They didn’t leave anything but the canine family behind, not even any dog food. When neighbors saw Bronco’s family traveling from place to place, they contacted the Shelter.

But Bronco wasn’t abandoned with absolutely nothing. Someone in his former family taught him to love humans.

GOTHAM

Itty-bitty Gotham’s mamma’s people weren’t interested in spaying or vaccinating her. After all, they didn’t plan to keep her in their family, even though Mamma believed that she had a lifelong home. After all, the people cuddled her, at least at first. But that was just entertainment for the people.

When they moved, those people took the big-screen television for entertainment but not Gotham’s mamma or him. Hungry, Mamma wandered across a field, with Gotham and his littermates toddling behind. Maybe Mamma hoped to catch a field mouse. She didn’t, but she came to a house where someone was much kinder.

Gotham learned to adore this new person who fed and held him but couldn’t keep him. Now Gotham wants to adore someone else forever.

ROXY

Roxy has soulful, amber eyes, eyes that focus on faces and seem to understand the messages they send. The spayed, four-year-old American Foxhound’s mannerisms show that she’s lived closely with someone, someone Roxy wanted to please. So, she became perfectly housebroken and beautifully walks on a leash. She, unlike some of her breed, also lives in ladylike silence.

Those wonderful behaviors, along with Roxy’s sweet, gentle ways should have guaranteed her a home for life. However, when she was found wandering, Roxy not only was homeless, she was also very hungry. Her ribs showed through her sleek, rose-gold-colored coat.

In the shelter, Roxy has shown her gratitude for every meal. She’s that sort of dog. And she’s gained five pounds and reclaimed her natural beauty.

WARSAW Warsaw is ready to go home, ready after a nine-month-long struggle, ready to walk beside her person,…

[95
24796,4407,55708,24137,182,181
post-110290","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-warsaw","tag-dog","tag-dogs","tag-domesticated-canids","tag-human-animal-interaction","tag-poland","tag-warsaw
["GET
