{"id":110979,"date":"2026-06-18T07:47:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T07:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/110979\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T07:47:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T07:47:14","slug":"snalltaget-launches-malmo-oslo-rail-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/110979\/","title":{"rendered":"Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get launches Malm\u00f6\u2013Oslo rail service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-mh-magazine-content wp-image-139301\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Snalltaget--678x381.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\"  \/>The Swedish private rail operator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railwaypro.com\/wp\/snalltaget-introduces-a-night-train-to-the-arctic-circle\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get<\/a> has inaugurated the new Malm\u00f6\u2013Gothenburg\u2013Oslo route, offering a direct rail connection between Sweden and the Norwegian capital.<\/p>\n<p>The new line represents a significant expansion of the Scandinavian rail network, with a direct impact on cross-border mobility in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The launch event took place in Oslo and was attended by Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get\u2019s Commercial Director, Marco Andersson, as well as officials and guests from the transportation sector, including Sweden\u2019s ambassador to Norway, Mikael Eriksson.<\/p>\n<p>The new Malm\u00f6\u2013Gothenburg\u2013Oslo route operates daily, offering passengers modern railcars and a dining car. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railwaypro.com\/wp\/contract-awarded-for-ertms-installation-in-malmo-region\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">In Malm\u00f6<\/a>, passengers can connect directly to Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get\u2019s night trains to Hamburg and Berlin, thereby strengthening north\u2013south connections in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new line makes travel along the Oslo\u2013Gothenburg\u2013Malm\u00f6\/Copenhagen corridor simpler, cheaper, and more comfortable. Direct trains with no transfers, enhanced comfort, and a dining car are essential for gaining market share on this route,\u201d said Marco Andersson.<\/p>\n<p>International Connections and Expanded Services<\/p>\n<p>Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get trains run daily, departing from Oslo S Station in the afternoon and arriving at Malm\u00f6 C in the evening, and in the opposite direction in the morning from Malm\u00f6 to Oslo. The route serves several cities in Norway and Sweden, including Gothenburg, Varberg, Halmstad, Helsingborg, and Lund.<\/p>\n<p>In Malm\u00f6, passengers can continue their journey to Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Berlin, reinforcing the city\u2019s role as a European rail hub.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ability to easily book tickets online, including connections to Hamburg and Berlin, will help increase rail travel,\u201d said Marco Andersson.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the Oslo\u2013Malm\u00f6 route start at nearly 13.7 EUR (149 Swedish kronor), and seat reservations are included in the price. Interrail passes are also accepted, with mandatory seat reservations.<\/p>\n<p>Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get operates several international routes, including connections between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railwaypro.com\/wp\/direct-rail-service-launched-on-the-hamburg-copenhagen-stockholm\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stockholm, Malm\u00f6, Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Berlin<\/a>, as well as seasonal trains to the Austrian Alps and northern Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>The new Oslo\u2013Gothenburg\u2013Malm\u00f6 route reinforces the company\u2019s strategy of expanding
